I am still new to this blogging lark and therefore I hope I will not bore anyone who choses to read. I will continue to have a go!
Not everyone on my timeline will be pleased the Olympic Games are underway and officially opening tomorrow for many reasons, however my family and I are excited and looking forward to the games.
We love our sport, watch loads on the TV and go to live events. We have had a great week sportswise with the fantastic end to the Tour de France and the wonderful achievement of Bradley Wiggins, and the fantastic finish to the week in the sprints by Mark Cavendish, whose finish on Friday was nothing short of breathtaking. The British Open at Lytham St Anne's (we went Saturday), and Sunday's end leading to Ernie Els victory in the face of Adam Scott's sad finish. Then yesterday the Hampshire Royals (not a potato) pulled off a nail biting finish against Nottinghamshire in the T20 quarter finals. We were travelling at the time and desperately trying to keep up with the score via Twitter and 3G which disappeared at the bottom of hills!
My Husband went a couple of weeks ago to watch the Olympic torch go through town and we were at St Mary's Stadium to see the torch hand over during the Marcus Liebherr Memorial Cup. Yes we really love our sport. At it's best it makes you happy and elated and want to bounce around like a five year old.
I would wish all of our athletes and sports men and women the very best for the games. we can't wait and shall be heartily screaming and shouting you on. Go Team GB!
